DayNote – Mon 06 Apr 2026

I’m back!

I didn’t manage to write my daily posts this weekend, but today I’m finally getting back to it.

Don’t worry though, even though I didn’t write my daily posts, I still worked on my novel every day.

Saturday I had a really great writing session. I was super inspired and the words just flew out of me. By the time I had finished, I had gotten a little over 2.000 words down.

Sunday was a bit slower and I only got a few hundred words down.

And today I’m sorry to say that I didn’t complete my full hour of writing. I did about half an hour, and all of it longhand, so I don’t know how many words they were exactly. I’ll find out as soon as I transcribe it into my scrivener document.

This weekend got me thinking – writing is weird. Why is it that one day I can be super inspired and know exactly where I’m going, and yet on the next day when I sit down to write, I feel unmotivated and I no longer know what I want to write. Why is that? I really don’t know. I just know that every day it’s a challenge for me, and I have to force myself to get started. Once I start, it usually only takes me a few minutes to get into it, and then I really enjoy the process. But the starting is what almost breaks me…

Do you know that feeling?

Maybe I can find a few tricks and habits I can do to make “starting” easier.
