Day ten of the writing streak
Today was one of those days during which I almost didn’t continue my writing streak. I’d been thinking about writing all day, and yet I couldn’t find the motivation or inspiration to get to it.
It wasn’t until 11PM that I finally told myself that I just had to sit down and get to it, because it was clear that the inspiration wasn’t coming.
So I sat down and set a timer for 30 minutes. And I got writing. And to my surprise, even though I had lacked inspiration all day, almost immediately after I began writing, the inspiration came. And by the time my timer rang, I was deep into my story and it was hard for me to pull myself out.
This was a great reminder that I shouldn’t wait for inspiration to strike before starting to write. Sometimes I just have to get started, and hope that inspiration catches up with me.
Just as I am every day I write and move my novel forward, I’m so very proud of myself for the work I’m putting in.
I’m glad I didn’t break my writing streak because today is day ten of that streak, and it’s the first time I’ve reached the double digits in a writing streak! This is cause for celebration, don’t you think?
