Day thirty-five of the writing streak
Some of the effects of yesterday’s “bad day” stuck with me today as well, but I did my best to push ahead anyway.
When I sat down to write I wondered if my thoughts of yesterday were right and that my first draft is truly done. For a moment I would almost have said yes, but then as I re-read my work of the past couple days, I realized that there was something in the subplot that I still wasn’t very happy with. So during today’s writing session I worked on that some more, trying to figure out and change the part that wasn’t quite right yet. I made some real progress that I’m happy with. I also figured out what exactly it is that isn’t working for me, but I wasn’t able to find the solution to it yet.
Hopefully I’ll figure it out before reaching my deadline for draft one, but if I don’t it’s ok because I’ve made some real progress with the subplot anyway, and that little detail can still be changed in the next draft. I still have a few days before my deadline, so let’s see what happens.
