Day two of the 7-day writing streak challenge

Day two of the writing streak is officially accomplished. I just finished several 30 minute writing sessions, and let me tell you that even though it was a little challenging to get started at first, once I had, I fell into some kind of flow state and it was really hard for me to stop when my timer rang to announce the half hour was over.

But, as per my self-set rules for this challenge, I made sure to take a break between each writing session.

I actually used some of these breaks to work on this post, as well as another post for my reflections page. I’m not sure if this is what I’m “supposed” to be doing during my writing-breaks, but an inspiration had hit and I was excited to write these posts.

But I also made sure to take some time away from my laptop, and either be with my dogs or go out for a moment to get some fresh air during each break.

In the end I ended up spending three full sessions and a partial one, which is almost two hours, working on my novel, and by the end of it, I had finished drafting something that I think could become a full chapter some day (after a good rewriting and a bunch of editing, of course haha)

I’m so glad to have taken so much time to write today. I actually had a lot of fun doing it too, and I feel like I made good progress.

I think that one of the reasons why today’s writing felt so good is due to a thought that I had this morning, which felt like unlocking a huge realization about my writing brain. This thought and realization is actually the main topic of my soon to come reflections post that I was working on today.

I hope to be able to share it soon, but for now, I need a break because my brain is officially fried after nearly two hours of creative writing and the writing I did for the post.

So I’m going to rest now so that I can come back strong tomorrow for day three of the writing streak!
